It was long but fun weekend shooting an ad campaign for a wonderful new hair product to help restore youth to your hair. I will definitely be sharing more with you at a later date\u2026but for now just know my fellow thin stranded friends\u2026there is hope beyond spending a fortune on hair extensions!<\/p>\n

We had the opportunity to shoot at one of the more prominent resorts in town, and darlings, I never tire of doing a little people watching. After spying drones of women parade from meeting to meeting I started to notice a pattern, the red heads all dressed in salmon, peach and shades of moss, the blondes seemed to dress in shades of pale blues and summery light pinks, while the raven haired women were sporting some awfully bright shades of purple and fuchsia. <\/p>\n

Then it dawned on me\u2026the corporate woman\u2019s guide to dressing, the wardrobe staple of the 80\u2019s. It was clear that several groups of these women were wearing \u201ctheir seasons\u201d!!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have the slightest inkling as to what I am talking about let me introduce you to \u201cColor Draping\u201d Ta-da! It was all the rage when I was in high school and college and has been updated a gazillion times over to help the fashion challenged to figure out what colors flatter her most. The premise is that your undertones determine your season. Are you a warm or cool undertone? And if so are you a more bold Winter (jewel tones) or a more subdued Summer (cool pastels)? Okay, so I am paraphrasing and editing big time but you get it right?. Now don\u2019t get me wrong, I believe that there is merit to this system. It is definitely a good way to know what to stay away from and to this day I will never wear an orange blouse or a pea green dress\u2026. but really, would I have worn them any way? Now please, I plead, just because you are an Autumn or a Winter doesn\u2019t mean that you have to stick tooth and nail to only those colors, and I find that so many women who get caught in the box also get caught in a time machine and nothing is more frustrating than trying to convince a \u201cWinter\u201d that she doesn\u2019t have the wear that bright fuchsia lipstick anymore, now that it\u2019s the year 2010.<\/p>\n

If you are still working the system, it\u2019s time to step back to the future and try a few small things to at least update your makeup bag. <\/p>\n

Autumns\/Springs \u2013 toss that too orange blush, lipstick and green eye shadow, go for softer slightly muted shades and warmer shadows that will give you a glow without aging you.
