Yes it’s already been five days and I am still talking about the Oscars. This year it seems that there were so many wearable makeup and hair looks and since I have already touched on the makeup why not round it out by talking about the hair? One of my favorite things about the Oscars styling this year was the ability to keep things looking elegant and black tie without resorting to that old stiff lacquered hair of years past. Maybe it\u2019s just me but there is something about that stuck in the box overly done hair that I loathe, in fact nothing is more of a bore than stiff sprayed black tie or wedding hair, I simply don\u2019t understand why people even bother to do it anymore. It never looks fresh on anyone. And don\u2019t even get me started on what I like to call the \u201ccrispy curly fries\u201d hair\u2026eee gads! <\/p>\n

Once again\u2026have we said this enough? Sandra Bullock wins top honors for her sleek and sophisticated hair. It was shiny, elegant and paired perfectly with her makeup and Marchesa dress. To get the look blow dry hair with a large round brush then roll large 2 inch sections into pin curls and set while hair cools. The key to this look is a good grooming cream or serum like Frederick Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream with micro encapsulated olive oil to boost shine and keep those little fuzzy hairs in place.

For the more daring red carpet moments in your life, Sarah Jessica Parkers sculptural do was absolutely divine. It was pure late 60\u2019s Hollywood with just a tinge of frazzle to give it a modern edge. If you look closely the bun resembled a sweet interlaced bow. Had it been super slicked and perfect\u2026it might not have been so darn cool. <\/p>\n

To get the look use clip in pony tail extensions then split the pony into three sections and roll each section forward securing tightly with bobby pins. Try Wrap around pony by Hairdo (the Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves brand that we adore)

Another favorite do of the evening was Miley Cyrus\u2019 simple, sexy updo. This look is totally wearable and chic for all ages.<\/p>\n

To get the look use a medium barrel curling iron like the Hot Tools \u00bd inch barrel and wrap hair in one inch sections around the iron . Sweep curls back with a wide tooth comb and secure into a ponytail. Twist the ponytail into a bun and secure with bobby pins. To keep your waves in place try Ted Gibson Beautiful Hold Hair Spray to Go it\u2019 s mini sized to pop in your bag when your on the move.
