Aside from stepping into a 125-degree car that resembles nothing more than an oven and makes me feel like a piece of chicken ready to roast, one of the things I hate most about an Arizona summer is feeling like my face is melting off. Personally, I tend to go way light on makeup in the summer just to avoid that at all costs. After all, there really is nothing attractive about foundation marks, eyeliner and mascara lines running down a girl’s face. (In fact, for more summer beauty tips you can check out my previous post here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Luckily, there’s tons of tips, tricks and products you can use to avoid summer disasters. Here’s a few:<\/p>\n

\"crabtree_evelyn_body_powder\"<\/p>\n

Talc powder<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sweating through your clothes is super embarassing, to say the least. This trick won’t stop it, but applying some good old-fashioned baby powder will help absorb excess sweat. This is a little secret that I’ve totally used. You can use something as simple as regular baby powder but personally, I prefer a scented talc powder like this Crabtree & Evelyn scented body powder. Most apply right after the shower for a nice finishing touch but you can also apply right before leaving the house to help absorb any sweat. $20.<\/p>\n

\"boulee_dress\"<\/p>\n

Loose-fitting clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n

I pretty much live in dresses in the summer. They’re easy, comfortable but the most important reason being is I feel like my legs and body can actually breathe! <\/em>Jeans just feel a bit too constricting and I stopped wearing shorts around the 7th grade so dresses are my savior. Loose-fitting clothing like this is a great way to go as there’s nothing worse than tugging at some too-tight jeans or a tight t-shirt that’s doing nothing but irritating your skin and producing unwanted sweat. This pink swingy Boulee dress is a perfect summer pick I can’t imagine being too hot in. $215. Intermix.<\/p>\n

\"juicy_couture_floppy_hat\"<\/p>\n

Hats<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wish people wore hats more often, or that I felt like I could pull them off for that matter, because they’re super chic and such a great, great way to beat the heat. Especially for those (like me) who are dark-haired, being in the sun makes you feel like your head is frying and a darling hat like this Juicy Couture floppy hat from shopbop would surely do the trick. $95.<\/p>\n

No black<\/strong><\/p>\n

There’s a reason designers embrace dark colors in the winter and light ones in the summer, it just makes sense! If you don’t believe me go ahead and try walking outside wearing all-black and see how lovely that feels. Embrace the white and banish the dark colors from your wardrobe until the cooler season hits. \"laura_mercier_oil_free_tinted_moisturizer\"<\/p>\n

Oil-free tinted moisturizer with SPF<\/strong><\/p>\n

In my previous Summer Beauty Guide post<\/a>, I blogged about using tinted moisturizers. They’re much lighter than foundations and an oil-free version with SPF packs all the protection that you need.
