<\/p>\nWhen it comes to summer, your beauty routine becomes a whole different animal. No longer are those heavy foundations and anti-static hair products useful. It’s all about SPF, staving off oily skin and surviving the heat without your face melting off. Because, let’s face it, there’s nothing more unattractive than someone who’s got makeup goo running down their face.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That being said, you can survive the summer here just fine with a few tweaks to your beauty routine. It’s all about finding what’s right for you and your skin but here are some tips and products to definitely consider adding to your beauty repetoire.<\/p>\n

Tinted Moisturizer<\/strong><\/p>\n Personally, I hate wearing any kind of face makeup in the summer. For some reason I just feel like the sun makes it bake into my pores and it totally grosses me out. If you can’t forgo the foundation or powder, try something a bit more lightweight for the summer like a tinted moisturizer. Clinique has a nice tinted moisturizer that’s sheer and lightweight. It’s only SPF 15 so be sure to apply at least an SPF 30 separately.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lorac also makes a nice tinted moisturizer. The product is oil-free and has an SPF 30 so you’re getting just the right amount of sun protection. Try to stick to oil-free products in the summer if you feel the heat is making your skin extra shiny.<\/p>\n Oil Control<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking of shiny, these Too Faced oil-blotting sheets are something I truly do not leave the house without. Ever. The sheets are totally amazing at removing unwanted grease from your skin without rubbing off makeup.\u00a0<\/p>\n You can also try philosophy’s Never Let Them See You Shine oil-control primer. I have a tube of this stuff and it has a surprisingly velvety texture and goes on clear. You apply under your makeup for a smooth matte finish and lasting oil-control all day long.<\/p>\n Expert Eyes<\/strong><\/p>\n Summer eye makeup can be tricky. You don’t want goo melting off your face. My favorite Maybelline mascara, The Colossal Volum Express, just came out with a waterproof version that won’t run.<\/p>\n For a light beachy makeup look, try a shimmery gold shadow on your lids. The neutral tones will blend into your skin should your makeup fade and prevent eyeshadow mess.\u00a0<\/p>\n This summer, white liner is also a really big trend. If you line your lower lids with white it’ll make your eyes pop and won’t bleed the same way brown or black liner does, especially in the heat.\u00a0Whenever I’m experimenting, I reach for a Wet n’ Wild pencil. It’s the cheapest stuff out there, perfect for trying out new looks you aren’t sure you want to commit to yet. And, the stuff works great too.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hair Care<\/strong><\/p>\n This may be the subject of a whole different post one day, but something I am seeing a lot of lately is hair products for your hair and scalp with sun protection. I have a sample of Tela Beauty Organics Guardian SPF 18 for hair and scalp that I have yet to test, but if you’re out in the sun this summer it’s touted to protect your tresses and your scalp from UVA and UVB rays. \u00a0You can massage it into scalp on wet or dry hair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"When it comes to summer, your beauty routine becomes a whole different animal.
