The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has unveiled a new collaboration with the NFL and Bloomingdale\u2019s, where 48 fashion designers from the group have created elaborate \u201chaute couture\u201d football helmets.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the New York region and we couldn\u2019t think of a better way to celebrate by joining Bloomingdale\u2019s and the NFL in merging fashion and sports with the creation of these unique helmets,\u201d said Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO, in a statement.<\/p>\n

While Nicole Miller decorated her helmet with a colorful floral arrangement backed by black and white stripes, Betsey Johnson covered hers in little roses and Marchesa went for an all-black textured effect with mounted beads and feathers.<\/p>\n

On January 15, consumers can bid on the helmets at Bloomingdales.com, which start at $248 to commemorate the 48th<\/sup> Super Bowl. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit NFL Foundation, which works to improve the lives of those \u201ctouched by the game of football.\u201d The auction will run until February 5.<\/p>\n
