\u201cNew,\u201d it is what the fashion world is all about, right? The industry is constantly moving, changing, and reinventing itself, so when we saw that Fashionista.com <\/a>had the scoop on this year\u2019s Parsons womens-wear \u2018Designer of the Year\u2019 candidate collections<\/a> we had to share with you.<\/p>\n

In the past designers like Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler have won the coveted title. The 13 students aren\u2019t just design geniuses, but they have also held coveted internships like Nominee Renea Lariviere who interned for Proenza Schoulder. <\/p>\n

Student Harim Jung is already celebrating her win for the Kering \u201cEmpowering Imagination\u201d award\u2014we can only imagine what it would be like to win both of the prestigious competitions (Good luck Harim!). <\/p>\n

Joseph Sing tells Fashionista.com about the inspiration for his collection:
\n \u201cI was amazed how the Spice Girls were a group but at the same time they were five individual styles,\u201d he explained \u201cThis is what lead me to research more about fashion and how you can express yourself through your own style.\u201d<\/p>\n
