Buys Intermix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, the big news in the world of fashion was the purchase of Intermix by Gap Inc. it was definitely a shock and many of my blogger friends weighed in. Though there were\/are mixed feelings about the acquisition, we all agreed that Gap has stepped it up over the past we years and this could potentially be amazing. For instance, Gap\u2019s recent partnership with famous bloggers and their e-commerce features like We \u201cheart\u201d Outfits and Trends We Love. Intermix stocks wearable items from luxury designers like Azzedine Ala\u00efa, Proenza Schouler, Fendi, and so forth, catering to a decidedly wealthier and more brand-conscious customer than Gap\u2019s other brands. And with the exception of Piperlime, all of Gap\u2019s apparel brands manufacture their own products. Gap was obviously seeking to diversify their holdings. (Gap, Inc. is not to be confused with Gap stores \u2014 this arrangement won\u2019t affect, say, Gap jeans.)<br \/>\nAccording to WWD, Gap\u2019s backing will help Intermix open more stores, grow its e-commerce capabilities, expand internationally, and add more designer offerings. Intermix\u2019s cofounder and CEO, Khajak Keledjian, and president, Adrienne Lazarus, will retain their leadership roles. In other words, the Gap-owned Intermix won\u2019t be terribly different from the way it is now \u2014 there will just be much more of it. <\/em>(Via <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\" target=\"_blank\">nymag.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/?attachment_id=15699\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15699\"><img  loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\"  src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter-80x45.jpeg\"  alt=\"inter\"  width=\"585\"  height=\"330\"  class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15699 pk-lqip pk-lazyload\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-ls-sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter.jpeg\"  data-pk-srcset=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter.jpeg 585w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter-380x214.jpeg 380w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/22081219\/inter-80x45.jpeg 80w\" ><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Edie Kissko, Gap Inc. spokeswoman assures Intermix fans that they will work to keep the brand as it is, \u201cIntermix has strong brand loyalty among their customers and their vender bases,\u201d said Kissko. \u201cAnd they have trusted relationships with designers and clients that have taken years to nurture and develop. We recognize that. Their formula for success is unique, and we want to work closely with them to continue to lay the company\u2019s growth plan but also integrate them into Gap Inc.\u201d (via <a href=\"http:\/\/elle.com\" target=\"_blank\">elle.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Considering, that Gap plans to help open more Intermix stores\u2026 I think it is safe to say that many a fashionista are excited about this news\u2026Let\u2019s cross our fingers that one will land in town sometime soon!<\/p>\n<p>What do you think about Gap\u2019s new venture?
