Who doesn\u2019t love coming home to an unexpected package? It feels like Christmas (albeit on some random day) as you rip open the package with anticipation. Well, that is exactly hoe women all over the world feel when they get their monthly beauty sample box. <\/p>\n

If you are not familiar with the beauty sample box, it is a box (funny) full of several sample size (and sometime full sized) beauty products\u2014everything from perfume to toothpaste. Customers subscribe to these boxes and pay a low monthly fee (usually $10-$25) and get a box full of these fun pint-sized products delivered right to their front door. It may seem odd to pay for samples, but it is a good way to test products before heading out and purchasing a price full sized version that you find out you don\u2019t like. Plus it beats spending $100 or more dollars to only receive 1 sample size at your favorite beauty stores. <\/p>\n

What: Birchbox is the OG of beauty subscription boxes. While it\u2019s up for debate about whether Birchbox pioneered the beauty subscription model, their name is ubiquitous enough that start-up guys say it\u2019s \u201cBirchbox for _____\u201d when pitching other subscription models to Venture Capitalists.
\nCost: $10\/month or $110 for a full year; $20\/month for a men\u2019s subscription<\/p>\n

What: The Samwer brothers, a duo who takes effective U.S. technology start-ups and replicates them in other markets, created Glossybox, which began as the European copycat of Birchbox. However, far from being a mere replica, Glossybox has transformed itself with an exclusive focus on luxury. Glossybox CEO, Susan Naci, a Vanity Fair alum, explains, \u201cGlossybox provides our subscriber with an advanced, insider look into the international world of luxury through a specially, curated box of prestige beauty items.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cost: $21\/month, or $220 for a full year. They also have three and six month options.<\/p>\n

What: BeautyArmy, a beauty subscription service that lets you do the choosing\u2014you get to hand-pick your samples online after filling out an online beauty questionnaire.<\/p>\n
