For most of the country a sunny 81-degree Thanksgiving day would be a treat, but when you live in the desert you want nothing more than a few weeks of cool weather. Unfortunately, no matter how hard we wish, cross our fingers, and even pray it is likely that tomorrow will be just a bit toasty for a fall Thanksgiving day. So instead of breaking out the cozy sweater dress this year, you may need to rethink your Turkey Day wardrobe. <\/p>\n

Here are a few warm weather outfit ideas for the big day\u2026 that are of course mouth-stuffing comfortable. <\/p>\n

The tunic dress is my go-to for any occasion where there will be lots of food! The loose silhouette is quite forgiving. You can wear with comfy leggings or cute patterned tights and boots. In lighter fabrics a tunic is sure to keep you cool even when wearing long sleeves. For a different look style with a belt for a cinched waist\u2026 just remember not to eat too many slices of pie if you are going the belt route.

Considering that the evening will still be cool, layering is a great option for your sunny Thanksgiving. Plus if you want to take a brisk walk after all that yummy food you\u2019ll be prepared. Chambray has been quite the trend for sometime now and is the perfect layering piece. Pair with a more feminine tee for a nice mix and black or white jeans and flats. You\u2019re sure to be the trendiest person at any get together. <\/p>\n

You may want to wait on putting away the summer clothes for this look. Why not try the shorts and tights combo? The key is to keep it simple and classy or you may end up looking, well, not so classy if you know what I mean. <\/p>\n

Taking a tip from our very own Diane Aiello from her recent post about dressing skinny; cropped pants are the way to go: <\/p>\n

In the 90\u2032s I had this great pair of \u201cmagic pants\u201d that always made me look thinner, today they have been replaced with J.Crews Cafe Capri pants a slightly cropped, slim leg, super flattering version that comes in a slew of colors. They look great on just about everyone. But make sure that you get the proper fit because proportion is the key to looking longer and leaner.<\/p>\n

I like to pair them with a loose cami or halter that flows over the waist and hides a thick mid section. For fall top it with a fitted blazer or cropped biker jacket and a pair of heels. Playing with proportions is one of the main rules to follow when dressing \u201cthinner\u201d.<\/p>\n
