I was not always a fan of Nicole Richie, particularly her Paris Hilton bestie days, I think I made it through half of one episode of The Simple Life<\/em>. However, the Fashion Star<\/em> version of Miss Richie or should I say Mrs. Joel Madden has grown on me. Her style is truly her own-a mix of ease, boho, and chicness all rolled into one petite but extraordinary package. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If you are up on all of your celeb gossip then you know that Nicole Richie is not just a reality TV starlet, a famous musician\u2019s daughter, ex-best friend of Paris Hilton, celeb mommy…she is also quite the designer. Already a success in the industry with her House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate brands, Richie has created a limited edition collection for Macy’s. The partnership is of course not too far fetched seeing as Richie worked with the Macy’s buyers on the set of Fashion Star<\/em>. <\/p>\n

The collection is set to launch in September just in time to add some extra pieces to your fall wardrobe. The collection is all Richie. “Well, it’s still very much my aesthetic, very much me, but I also wanted to really focus on the Macy’s girl. That Macy’s girl that is definitely wanting to go for more of an eclectic style and a line that’s extremely affordable and accessible. It’s a small collection \u2014 just 25 pieces \u2014 and it’s only out for six weeks, so it’s very special and very true to Macy’s,” she tells Refinery 29. The silhouettes are fairly straightforward and familiar but there are a few pieces that really stand out. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This cobalt blue blouse with geometric detailing is among my favorite pieces… I can already imagine the perfect skinnies and black suede booties. I’m also loving the faux-leather dress, shirt, skirt, and jacket (I guess I really like faux leather). There is also a lot of peacock feather print and asymmetrical hemlines happening. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The eclectic collection will range in price from $49 to $149. The variety in both design and price serves not only to cater to a variety of women, but also the woman who wears many different hats. “Right now American women are wearing many different hats. We are not just one-dimensional anymore and I wanted to make the collection a nod to that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Though I may not be the first in line on September 12th, I think that Richie’s line is definitely worth a look. And I’m sure I’ll be picking up that blouse and some sort of faux-leather. <\/p>\n
