Tis the season\u2026 to be jolly\u2026. Okay as much as I love Christmas in July sales I\u2019m actually talking about a season that has most fashion savvy women sneaking a peak at their favorite fashion sites during work, ignoring phone calls from the husband, and stealing some alone time with the computer, a season for immaculate gowns, intricate embroidery, and lots and lots of lace! Okay, okay I know I went a bit overboard there; it is time for Fall 2012 Couture.<\/p>\n

Yes, the Fall 2012 Couture shows are wowing crowds across the pond, but first I must share that designers are not the only ones showing off their fabulous fashion, in fact models just may have some competition in their high-fashion onlookers. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Jak & Jil blogger and Canadian street photog Tommy Ton has captured some awe-inspiring images on the streets of Europe for style.com and I couldn\u2019t help but share a few with you before we jumped into our collection reviews. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I\u2019m honestly not sure if I\u2019m looking at real life here or an elaborate editorial setup\u2026 Okay, I know it\u2019s the former, but you have to admit it\u2019s pretty hard to believe just what great style these people have. <\/p>\n

Attendees at Elie Saab beheld beautiful Byzantine empresses wearing long glistening gowns. Saab may have veered from his usually color palette of high definition purple, mint, and red for softer nudes, black, and blue, but stayed true to his affinity for party frocks and red-carpet evening gowns. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Among my favorites is this gold-leafed, peach gown for the modern princess, and the truly Byzantine pale blue off \u2013the-shoulder master piece, though perhaps a bit hard to pull off in 2012 (I can\u2019t wait to see who is the first to attempt or perhaps we will have a \u201cwho wore it better\u201d battle). I\u2019m also positive that in no time at all fashionistas all over the world will be sporting this hairstyle. <\/p>\n

\nCan someone say midnight? At least that is the hour in which Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli must have gathered their inspiration. Dark navy and midnight blues were at the center of the couture collection that ranged from futuristic floor-length capes to extroverted sheer chiffon gowns. <\/p>\n

\nWe did get a small ray of sunshine with the old word, yellow brocade, a bit of a spring teaser indeed. With less than a handful of signature red, critics are right to say that the not-so-new designers are ready to be themselves. <\/p>\n
