I was debating with myself about what to write about today: pre-Oscar fashion, a final review of London Fashion Week, Fashion Week beauty\u2026.but in the end I just couldn\u2019t say no to covering the runways of Milan Fashion Week. <\/p>\n

So without further adieu\u2026.<\/p>\n

Alberta Ferretti gave us less feminine and more confident futuristic. Her inspiration? \u201c”I’m projecting my woman into the future,” she said. “The world is very hard at the moment, and a woman needs to be strong, because she has an important role to play in society.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Though I am a sucker for an ultra-feminine Ferretti dress in jewel tones or her fabulous, sheer, whimsical garden theme from Spring 2011, I think that she did an excellent job incorporating both future and past Alberta Ferretti. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There is no doubt that women will be ready to play their important role in this ah-mazing purple fur coat\u2014I mean how cool does she look? <\/p>\n

Before I even get to the clothing at Prada can I just talk about the catwalk first? A massive purple square with geometric shapes gave the clothes and the pictures a bit of fashion magic. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The geometric shapes also found their way onto the models in the way of suits, purses, and tops. The embelisshed black coats, and mock-coat dresses (could think of no other way to describe them), and black pant looks that opened the show and then found their way back between the colorful geometric looks were among my favorites. Who knew you could wear black like that!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There is really so much for a fashion lover to in fact love about this collection or as Muccia describes it, “Everyone has a theory about their collections these days, but I’m sick of theory. This collection is about the pleasure of fashion.” There you go permission to have fun! <\/p>\n

Luisa Beccaria made me want to get together with my friends and have a garden party with jewels, lace, and fabulous clothes of course. Dare I say I liked every single look? I mean it had all of my favorite elements, ladylike, feminine, a muted color palette with just enough embellishment. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The coats were plush, quilted and gorgeous while the designer was obviously a big fan of the sheer, nearly nude dresses that we also saw at Mario Schwab in London. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Surprisingly one of my favorite looks was the pleated maxi skirt with a large diamond pattern and turtleneck. So much so that I don\u2019t think that I\u2019m going to wait till fall to try one!<\/p>\n
