There was no better way to spend my Valentine\u2019s day than catching up on all that New York Fashion Week has to offer. As though I wasn\u2019t already “wowed” enough by previous days’ collections, yesterday just seemed to take the cake, so to speak\u2014colors, patterns, gorgeous gowns\u2026they all had me in a fashion tizzy. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

On her website Sophie Theallet credits Jean-Paul Guiltier, whom she worked for after graduating from Studio Ber\u00e7ot in Paris, for teaching her how to work with colors (among other things). I mention this because my first thought when seeing the collection was, \u201cWow, the color palette is brilliant!\u201d Starting with the first look, which is just one of my favorites, you can\u2019t help but be captivated by the pattern in orange, pink, deep red, teal, and blue and how wonderfully it all works together. <\/p>\n

\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This teal sweater with what looks to be a silk scarf collar also doubling as a belt is so unique and shows Theallet\u2019s French influence. The multi-pattern, sheer skirt is fun, sexy, and I\u2019m hoping to see more like it come fall. The rest of the line featured saturated, jewel toned pants, skirts, and flowy dresses made for the ultimate girly-girl. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

J. Crew showed us how to have sophisticated fun with their Fall 2012 RTW collection. Full of bright colors, polka dots, snakeskin skirts, and tons of texture\u2014the collection is an eclectic wonderland. The mint green, chevron stripe sweater topped with a fur coat, and paired with animal print \u201cfancy pants\u201d was among my favorite looks. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also could not peel my eyes off of the textured, blue dress layered over a white button-up. Per the usual, layers were huge for J. Crew\u2014jackets over sweaters over shirts\u2026dresses over sweaters etc. <\/p>\n

Of course, as in many blogs before, I must share the designs of my favorite designer\u2014Mr. Oscar de la Renta. I was bummed that I missed the live stream, but quickly recovered when I found out that you could watch the entire thing at live.oscardelarenta.com . <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This season Mr. de la Renta gave us jewel and silk headbands\u2026 I know, probably not what you expected me to say, but they are darling! <\/p>\n

The jewelry inspiration went far beyond that of the accessories as jewel prints gilded dresses and skirts (others were actually adorned with jewels). “I used a lot of colors you would not associate with winter colors but today’s woman doesn’t dress for seasons,” says de la Renta of his icy blues and whimsy pinks. One model looks like she could be a winter princess in a full-skirted, pale blue dress festooned with feathers, and a tiara to boot. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And we can\u2019t forget the gowns, undoubtedly the highlight of every Oscar de la Renta Show. This time an ombre-esque gown in shades of blue, grey, pink, and purple on model Arizona Muse stole the show. <\/p>\n
