So far New York Fashion Week has proved to be nothing short of fabulous.
\nDespite little snowflakes here and there the weather is what most New Yorkers would call “average” for this time of year…. As compared to the snowfall last year…. I’m pretty sure average is a welcomed state of being.<\/p>\n

Personally, if I wasn’t having such a good time I might be jealous of the 70 degree weather at home. \u00a0But a little chill won’t dampen my behind the scenes spirit as there have been far too many backstage gems to garner like these emerging trends of the season.<\/p>\n

At Alexander Wang, Derek Lam and Jason Wu all the buzz was about brows- full thick healthy brows, made to be bold but not harsh.<\/p>\n

At Alexander Wang, Diane Kendal had this to say about the look, “Keeping it quite boyish is the major thing [at Alexander Wang],” Kendal emphasized. “It’s all about finding that balance between sexy and androgynous,” which she did with contours–sculpting well-hydrated skin with MAC Pro Sculpting Cream in Coffee Walnut, which she also blended over lids. Kendal then added highlights on the tops of cheekbones, down both sides of the nose, and along the cupid’s bow of lips with MAC Pro Sculpting Cream in Accentuate, a subtle champagne. Strong, straight brows\u2014a classic Kendal move\u2014finished the look.<\/p>\n

At Derek Lam fringy lashes and medium brown shadow top and bottom were added to the aforementioned brow, and lips were kept natural with just a hint of balm.<\/p>\n

At Jason Wu, Diane Kendal once again designed another fabulous look – working within a similar cross section of warrior-meets-old school glamour, which manifested itself into a strong, diffused, emerald-green eye. “It’s Ming dynasty and 1940’s Hollywood,” Kendal said while building up lids using MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Tealo to create a base for its Eye Kohl in Minted, a light green, that she layered through the crease. To add texture and dimension, Kendal blended MAC Eyeshadow in Club and its Pigment in Kelly Green outward toward the temple before tracing the lash line with its Eye Kohl in Blooz, a dark blue, and a black cream liner to extend the elongated shape of the pigments. “The actual shape is the Hollywood part,” Kendal said of the classic cat’s-eye silhouette. MAC Haute and Naughty Mascara amplified top lashes only, while lips were left bare, save for a touch of its emollient Lip Conditioner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
