And now my wish has come true.  Soon Ford will launch a 132 piece collection of luxury cosmetic products collaborated on with makeup artist extraordinaire Charlotte Tilbury. He too was influenced by all the glamorous guests like model agent Nina Blanchard, hair guru Vidal Sassoon and a litany of others.<\/p>\n<p>Ford told WWD  \u201che\u2019d wanted to do color for a long time \u2014 as far back as when he was creative director at Gucci. Even when he founded his signature brand in 2005, the time still wasn\u2019t right for a launch. \u201cMy intention was to do color cosmetics out of the gate, but not everyone else was convinced that I had a voice in color until the lipsticks started selling out again and again,\u201d he said, referring to the Private Blend Lip Color Collection, a group of 12 ultrapigmented colors that launched last year\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3.jpg\"><img  loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\"  src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3-80x117.jpg\"  alt=\"\"  title=\"TOM3\"  width=\"361\"  height=\"526\"  class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10994 pk-lqip pk-lazyload\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-ls-sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3.jpg\"  data-pk-srcset=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3.jpg 361w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3-206x300.jpg 206w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3-80x117.jpg 80w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3-55x80.jpg 55w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065401\/TOM3-75x109.jpg 75w\" ><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From WWD -Ford\u2019s starting point was facial structure and the importance of creating the illusion of symmetry. \u201cYou need to understand the face and compensate for the architecture of the face,\u201d he said. He points to eyebrows, which fade and thin out as a woman ages. \u201cA nice thick brow is the key to a youthful look,\u201d he said, adding that a darker, heavier brow can make a high forehead appear less high, while an arched and tailored brow can make a round face appear more regular. <\/p>\n<p>Ford said his calligraphy tip brow pens are so precise, they can be used to draw on individual brow hairs. He\u2019s also a big believer in reshaping the face with illuminating and sculpting products such as the Shade and Illuminate cream duet. \u201cIn the old days, this used to be called contouring makeup.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4.jpg\"><img  loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\"  src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4-80x117.jpg\"  alt=\"\"  title=\"TOM4\"  width=\"361\"  height=\"526\"  class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10995 pk-lqip pk-lazyload\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-ls-sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4.jpg\"  data-pk-srcset=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4.jpg 361w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4-206x300.jpg 206w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4-80x117.jpg 80w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4-55x80.jpg 55w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065403\/TOM4-75x109.jpg 75w\" ><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He said that, overall, he\u2019s more about color than a nude face: \u201cFor night, it\u2019s a strong eye and a strong mouth.\u201d Indeed, even his lip glosses \u2014 with racy names like Lost Cherry \u2014 are packed with pigment. Eyes are most definitely smoky, and the key is to \u201canchor\u201d intense colors around the eye with a rim of kohl-effect pencil, said Ford, who worked with the British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury on the cosmetics. The effect is the feminine aesthetic at Studio 54 circa 1978, the full glossy lips and thick brows, the sparkling eyes and the long flowing locks on characters including Jerry Hall, Lauren Hutton, Mariel Hemingway and Bianca Jagger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2.jpg\"><img  loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\"  src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2-80x117.jpg\"  alt=\"\"  title=\"TOM2\"  width=\"361\"  height=\"526\"  class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-10996 pk-lqip pk-lazyload\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-ls-sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2.jpg\"  data-pk-srcset=\"https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2.jpg 361w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2-206x300.jpg 206w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2-80x117.jpg 80w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2-55x80.jpg 55w, https:\/\/media.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/afm-style-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/22065404\/TOM2-75x109.jpg 75w\" ><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ford is so invested in this collection that he\u2019s appearing in the ads \u2014 in sensual poses alongside his glamour girl models. \u201cI\u2019m not in the ads because I\u2019m vain. A lot of people still don\u2019t know who I am, and the product sells better with me in the ads,\u201d he said. \u201cThe old designers \u2014 Yves [Saint Laurent], Giorgio [Armani] and Ralph [Lauren] \u2014 occasionally used to do it.\u201d Ford also uses a lot of the skin care products himself, including the Traceless Foundation Stick in the corners of his nose and eyes, the Illuminating Protective Primer, and the Purifying Cr\u00e8me Cleanser \u201cit goes on like cold cream and the skin feels moisturized and unbelievable.\u201d He sometimes sleeps in the oil-based serum, Intensive
