Though no one likes to be sick, I can say this terrible flu that has kept me bedridden for days has had one advantage, I have been able to catch up on two things: old movies and more fashion week shows from my laptop.<\/p>\n

Though I didn\u2019t get to share all of my favorites with you from New York Fashion Week as there were far too many to count, this week right on NYC\u2019s heels is London Fashion Week. <\/p>\n

The Queen of the British fashion scene Vivienne Westwood showed her Red label collection on Sunday. The collection showed some wonderfully wearable pieces, if you could see past the Alice and Wonderland on crack makeup. For this collection, Westwood blended several inspirations from Alice to Portobello Road hipsters which translated into some looks being over the top and some more flirty and fun. The Westwood staples were all there including plaids, tartans, men\u2019s suiting and pinstripes, along with gorgeous capes, dresses and coats accessorized with oversized hats and look- at- me- hair accents. The color palette ranged from tans, blues, yellows, oranges, plums and blacks often not seeming very \u201cfallish\u201d at all but rather many pieces that could be worn year round with ease.<\/p>\n

Another Brit designer that always manages to please is Temperly London. This season Alice Temperly upped the anti from the sweet girlish frocks of collections past to more grown up, sexier mostly evening looks. Hemlines ranged from above the knee to knee length and floor length in silks, satins and chiffon tulles decorated with strategically embroidered patterns. Along with dresses there were leather leggings, flowing tuxedo pants and plenty of knitwear. The palette was mostly neutrals in whites, creams, golden tan, black and pops of red. Shapes went from curve hugging to flowing but always with the same results, chic and sophisticated.<\/p>\n

Temperly has long been a favorite of fashion editors and retailers, and with this new season many believe that the brand will become even more favored.<\/p>\n

And lastly at Mulberry Emma Hill took the brand down a classically English path full of wispy light dresses and heavy overcoats paired perfectly together lending an air of unfussiness.<\/p>\n

Silhouettes ranged from boxy sixties and seventies dresses to slim cut legging pants and plenty of classic knits, scarves and Mulberry bags to covet. A basic autumnal palette was revved up with bits of purple and metallics. All in all very wearable pieces that won\u2019t soon fade out of style.<\/p>\n
