New Year’s Spa Treatments

winter-spa-treatments

For most of us, our busy lives don’t enable us leisurely days at the spa. But during this holiday break, it’s time to treat ourselves to some R n’ R and prepare for the New Year at one of the Valley’s most luxurious spas. We have rounded up special treatments at top rated spas in the Valley perfectly strategized to start 2009 off right:

Bliss Scottsdale at the W Hotel
On your feet all day at work? Rejuvenate with this ultimate pedicure – The Hot Foot. This one uses a eucalyptus soap salt, sweet orange oil softening, and de-scruffing heating sea-salt scrubbing process – the perfect anecdote to cold feet. (60 minutes, $70).

The Salon & Day Spa at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort
Go in Dehp at The Salon & Day Spa! This is not a bad thing. The Dehp (short for Develop Expression of Human Potential) Session seeks to bring out your potential with an emotional cleansing process and energy balancing through imagery, insight and meditation. (3 hours, $500).

Golden Door Spa at The Boulders Resort
The most common New Year’s resolution is to lose weight or workout more. If you’re in the same boat, get prepared by doing a Body Composition Analysis at the Golden Door Spa at The Boulders Resort. The assessment uses a near infra-red light to reveal your body fat percentage, body mass index, water weight, basal metabolic rate and current caloric intake. Then a specialist will go over the results and create a plan to get you on your way to losing weight. (30 minutes, $70).

Got a Blackberry addiction? Or maybe the boss never leaves you alone. Counteract tension in the hands and arms, specifically in the overworked thumbs and wrists with Spa Avania’s Blackberry Hand Massage. Hands are warmed with soothing rocks and this kneading, compression and acupuncture massage loosens the arm muscles. (30 minutes)

  1. I’ve been dying to try out the new Bliss Spa and after a week of holiday skiing, my body would love a massage!

  2. I was actually a bit disapointed with Bliss. its pretty and stylish, but just not enough space and not enough luxury like the other in-town spas. good for a quick massage, but not for a full day trip.
