New Fashion Museum To Showcase Iconic Oscar De La Renta Gowns

Fashion lovers and pop culture fans will soon have a new must-visit museum destination. Design school Savannah College of Art and Design, or SCAD, will soon open an exhibit in their museum entirely dedicated to showcasing “‘Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style,’ the first posthumous tribute to the world-renowned and beloved fashion icon and his work.”

The exhibit will feature 70 garments, many designed exclusively for de la Renta’s closest friends and family.  It will opening October 3 and run until December 21.

Many of De La Renta’s designs have been worn from some of the most well-known celebrities, including music icon Taylor Swift, actress Jennifer Lawrence and television personality Opra Winfrey.

“This museum focuses on the past, present and future of fashion design, connecting conceptual to historical principles of dress, whether ceremonial, celebratory or casual, and welcomes visitors of all ages to engage with cutting-edge exhibitions, educationally enriching events, films and forums, guided by curricula for K-12 students and resources for graduate scholars,” Paula Wallace, SCAD president and founder, said in a press release.
