Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2014 Trends

Romantic pastels and monochrome color blocking made waves on the runways last weekend, where big names like Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera showcased their latest design creations at Bridal Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2014 in New York City.

From short hemlines to black and white frocks, here are some of the biggest trend takeaways that you’ll be seeing brides donning next spring.

Trend: Lace Sleeves

Oscar de la Renta (left) and Carolina Herrera (right) opted for a traditional sillhoutte with a nipped waist and deep V neck, while Marchesa (center) mimicked the trend with a twist of an old world champagne color.

Trend: Pretty Pastels

Trend: Monochrome

Leave it to the queen of bridal to introduce a contrast on the bridal runways. Vera Wang took the color blocking trend to a new level with stark contrasts of black and white that make a statement with a modern minimalist edge.

Trend: Go Short

For the bride who embraces freedom and trend-setting style, short wedding dresses finally made their debut on the spring runways. Monique Lhuillier (left) focused on romantic lace shifts, Caroline Herrera (center) revamped a classic shape, while Marchesa (right) romanticized her asymetric number with a waist-cinching sash.
