“Sex and the City” Star, Cynthia Nixon, used her famous voice this morning in Times Square NYC to inspire women to lend a hand and volunteer with the “Pledge 24 hours in 2010” promotion. WE tv’s national public affairs campaign “WE Volunteer” works to stress the importance of volunteerism, and how at least one day a year can make a difference in our community.
Nixon — a mother, actress and activist — spoke to the people of New York City and said: “I am so proud to support WE tv’s WE Volunteer and its “Pledge 24 in 2010″ campaign. We all know it’s vital that we reach out to help lend a hand. As a mother of two children it is very important to me that our schools help all kids reach their potential. Ensuring access to meaningful educational opportunities for all kids is the most important issue facing city and state leaders. Every child deserves a meaningful education. I will continue to fight for my daughter and my son and all the kids who are currently being shortchanged.”
Cynthia Nixon feels strongly about children’s education which is why she works closely with The Alliance for Quality Education. This NY state non-profit organization seeks to give every child a high-quality public education. Nixon plans to fulfill her WE Volunteer hours at two new Public Service Announcements (PSA) set to be filmed this winter, and which will begin airing multiple times daily beginning in early 2010 on WE tv.
