Celebs from Canada: Did you know they were Canadian?

With the Canadian Olympics taking over our channels, it sure brings the idea of Canada to the forefront of our brains. When I found out what celebs call Canada their home country, I was pretty surprised and found it rather interesting, so I thought I would share the Canadian mix with my Valley Girl readers who may not follow OMG.com.

Ryan Reynolds

I think I need to take a trip to Vancouver when the Olympics clear out if the men look anything close to Ryan Reynolds. Yes, the Hollywood hunk, voted one of the Sexiest Men Alive by People Magazine, is from Vancouver. This cold city must have been very sad to lose this one to the states.

Kim Cattrall

The sexy temptress from our favorite TV series “Sex & the City” may be a New Yorker on the show, but this gal is from north of the boarder. Kim Cattrall was raised in British Columbia and was honored with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame last year.

Matthew Perry

My personal favorite star on the classic show “Friends” is not a natural born citizen! Matthew Perry moved to Los Angeles in the mid-‘80’s to pursue a career in acting. And thank God for that!

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling

“The Notebook” stars and Canadian natives are no longer together, but I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone. Along with being from Canada, did you know McAdams trained to be a competitive figure skater before she made the switch into acting in the states? Maybe she would have been performing in her hometown right now if she hadn’t left for Hollywood. Who knows?

Jim Carrey

Funny man Jim Carrey is made for Hollywood. Although he was made in Canada. Who would have thought?

Mike Myers

The man who brought us “Austin Powers” and made us laugh on “SNL” is not a fellow American. He actually did improv in Canada before coming to the U.S.
