New Floral Boutique Opens in Scottsdale

Flower shop background. Fresh roses for bouquet delivery

Did you know that nearly 80% of all flowers sold in the U.S. are imported, often coming from growing fields where fair labor practices are not the norm? Imported flowers are fumigated at the border to pass through US customs, and even more chemicals are used to preserve them for their long journey. Brand new studio the Uprooted Bloom Room is changing that by sourcing flowers from U.S. farmers exclusively.

The unique floral and gift studio will be the only florist in Maricopa county to be a premium member of “Slow Flowers” an advocate for American grown flowers. Since the bouquets are locally sourced, the fresh blooms will last much longer than traditional arrangements and reduce the transport impact on the environment. Currently 80% of the cut flowers at stores and warehouses in the US are never sold and go to waste. Uprooted Bloom Room cuts their waste to zero by donating unsold flowers to area businesses and nursing homes, and composting scraps.

The florist offers three sizes of bouquets daily, delivered by bike courier whenever possible, or fuel-efficient hybrid cars. Customers can simply pick the size bouquet, and Uprooted Bloom Room will pick the blossoms. By eliminating choice, they are able completely eliminate the typical waste of 40%, resulting in a bouquet that stays fresh much longer at an affordable price. The beautiful bouquets come wrapped in signature burlap free of chemicals or a reclaimed wood vase for an additional $10.00.

The new Scottsdale floral and gift boutique, located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, provides a unique shopping experience for floral fanatics. The studio offers monthly brunch workshops with interactive instruction on floral design as well as a “Happy Hour with Flower Power” every Friday from 4-6pm where guests can sip mimosas while creating their own floral bouquet at the boutique’s arrangement bar. The store also carries an array of hand-selected gifts sourced from local artisans that specialize in art, jewelry, candles, and bath & body products.

Valley residents are invited to experience Uprooted Bloom Room at the studio’s Grand Opening event on Thursday, April 6th. The Grand Opening event will begin promptly at 4pm with a ribbon cutting and champagne toast, followed by the Grand Prize drawing valued at $1,000 retail.  Raffle drawing will continue every half hour throughout the event while guests enjoy cocktails, light bites, great music, and 10% off all retail.
