HomeTucsonTucson Arts › Tucson's Fall Concert Line-Up

This fall, Tusconans will be afforded several opportunities to enjoy al fresco entertainment via outdoor jazz benefits and even an event featuring the music of the West’s most famous singing cowboy. Here we highlight two of the Tucson areas must attend fall events.

The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador is well known in Tucson as host of many hot fall events. A collection of world-famous jazz musicians and vocalists will come together for a concert, poolside under the stars at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, Saturday, Sept.18, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.

The 11th annual Jazz Legends in Concert Live will feature performances by some of the greatest musicians alive today, who have risen to fame for their unique work, including Shelly Berg, Frank Capp, Houston Person, John Allred, Chuck Berghofer, Scotty Barnhart, and Barbara Morrison. Funds raised from the musical event will benefit local schools to support music and art programs. The musicians will participate in student invitational master classes offered to University of Arizona and high school music students, bringing them face-to-face with world-renowned musicians. Discounted packages-including resort accommodations, prime seating for the concert and a complimentary dinner-are on sale to make this weekend one to remember.

If jazz isn’t your genre, another music-centered event will have cowboys and cowgirls entertained. The 59th Annual Rex Allen Days Rex Allen, a staple of the Tucson vicinity, will return once again this fall. The concert will celebrate the one of Hollywood's famed singing cowboys, Rex Allen. Allen was born on a ranch near Willcox, Arizona, a rural town about 80 miles east of Tucson. The town will celebrate his legacy with a festival featuring two concerts by the singer's son, recording artist Rex Allen Jr., and other guest stars on October 1-3, 2010. The festival includes cowboy poetry readings and other live entertainment, a professional rodeo, a kid's rodeo, a parade, a car show, a softball game, and carnival, and other events.
