Kathy reports on the company's mission behind hitting the greens

Giving a deaf child a voice. It’s the mission of Desert Voices and the non-profit relies heavily on private donations to achieve it’s mission. It’s been Schuff Steel’s mission for the last 11 years by naming Desert Voices as the beneficiary of the steel company’s annual golf tournament.

Schuff's employees, vendors and customers gathered for a day of eagles, birdies, pars and more bogeys than they care to admit, but also to mingle with the children and staff of Desert Voices. (Pictured above at the event at the Palm Valley Golf Course are Addison, a Desert Voices student and her sister Tatum.)

Desert Voices, Arizona’s only school that teaches children born deaf to speak, also focuses on preparing students to mainstream into school of their parents’ choice.  They mainstream into schools of their choice with appropriate speech and language skills at or higher than their hearing peers.
