Kathy reports on the event’s power committee

David Rousseau, the chair of the Arizona Super Bowl host committee helped illuminate the “Havana Nights” benefit, as the event’s Honorary Chair. It’s quite fitting, because the Super Bowl leader is also the president of the utility company, SRP.  And the gala was a powerful evening.

Mayfann Millies, the manager of power generation services at SRP, chaired the sold out gala which electrified the coffers of A New Leaf Homeless and Domestic Violence Shelters.

A powerful case in point of the organization’s impact was when when Amber Black, a former, A New Leaf participant shared her struggle.

“She has such an inspiring story, overcoming being homeless and domestic violence. She’s now employed and works in real estate. It’s a true testament of how important A New Leaf is and how they are are saving lives, “ says Mayfann who is pictured below at the event with David Rousseau.

Many partygoers for the Cuban inspired evening turned out in Cuban attire including men sporting Fedora hats and women with hair styles boasting brightly colored decorate flowers. Flamenco dancers and the sounds of the Cuban guitar lured guests to the dance floor at the FireSky Resort.
