A Washington D.C. based non-profit called The Caring Institute (founded in 1985, at the behest of Mother Teresa) hosted its annual private gala in Scottsdale. What an inspirational intimate evening full of  emotionally charged standing ovations for  Gabby Giffords and husband Mark Kelly and Jane Seymour, who were among the honorees inducted into the Caring Hall of Fame. 

 Above is one of the Kodak moments during the VIP reception as Gabby, (the former Congresswoman shot in the head in Tucson in 2011) and husband Mark (former NASA Astronaut Captain) who are now  campaigning for gun control, visited with actress and entrepreneur Jane Seymour. Jane, an advocate for many charities in more than just name, is also an ambassador for Phoenix based Childhelp. Val Halamandaris, the founder and executive director of the Caring Institute is on Childhelp’s national board.

The Warners are known philanthropists and Brenda Warner accepted the award on behalf of she and her husband Kurt, the former NFL player who had other working commitments that evening. Brenda Warner is pictured above Val Halamandaris who is also pictured with Yvonne Fedderson , co-founder and CEO of Childhelp and former recipient of a Caring Award..  

Phoenix jeweler Alfredo Molina,  a former Caring Award recipient,  pictured above with Renee Dee, was the Dinner Chair of the dinner and awards ceremony at the Montelucia which recognized ten adults and six extraordinary youth from around the country.  The Caring Institute which promotes the value of caring. Don Tapia,  of the Donald R. Tapia School of Business at St. Leo Univeristy was also honored along with Jeff Miller and Earl Morse who co-founded the Honor Flight Network for World War II veterans.
