Kathy's EXCLUSIVE details on the Gretzky's Scottsdale home which sold in only THREE WEEKS!

The lavish property in Scottsdale owned by retired hockey player and former Phoenix Coyotes owner and Coach Wayne Gretzky, sold in only 3 weeks and it wasn’t even marketed as a celebrity home ! (Nor does it have a hockey rink or a tennis court with the Phoenix Coyotes logo that would otherwise give away that a celebrity might live there.)

The 5,600 sq. ft. house in a gated community nestled near the base of Camelback Mountain, which the Gretzky family lived in since 2003, went on the market for $3.395 million. With the power of marketing on the internet, Zillow and a few open houses, it sold in just 3 weeks to an out of town buyer for $2.875 million. Additionally, unlike some multimillion dollar homes that have been put on and off the market, during the shaky economy, the hockey great’s home had NOT previously been on the market.

By the way, because of the angle the 5,600 square foot architectural gem is built on, it boasts  breathtaking views.   There are views of Camelback Mountain from every window!

Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Jones, (a former actress) who now have 5 grown children, were the original owners of the home which they purchased in 2003 for $1.737 million. “It’s not the average timeline it takes to sell a house in the Phoenix area at these prices,” notes Pam Wugalter of Platinum Reality Network,  who respected the Gretzky’s privacy.

The Gretzky family owns homes in California, Toronto (where he has a fantastic restaurant "Wayne Gretzky's Toronto", and a vacation home in Idaho which has 2 huge water slides in the backyard. (He also sold his home in  Thousand Oaks, California in 2007 for $18.5 million.)

The sprawling Scottsdale property is located in a gated community of only 12 other homes. The main house has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, vintage chandeliers and high ceilings. Not to mention the stunning guest casita.
