Kathy Shayna Shocket has the inside stories on celebrities and Arizona's newsmakers.
Kathy's got the quotes and reports on Vince Vaughn's newest retreat and his commuting lifestyle between Chicago and L.A.
I can now share the news that Chicago native Vince Vaughn and his wife Canadian realtor Kyla Weber have purchased property in Paradise Valley, Arizona, a small affluent town just north of Phoenix. However, Vince and Kyla won’t be moving to Arizona for a about a year and a half. Not only will their plans to build a home on the property take at least that long, but Vince’s entrepreneurial demands are keeping him closer to Los Angeles these days.
In addition to his busy acting career, his production company’s business is booming. So much so, that he just purchased a $4 million home in California. The home, nestled in the San Gabriel Valley is far from the celebrity- lined streets of Beverly Hills and Hollywood and is known for being family friendly.
Vince will be keeping his Chicago penthouse , which was previously on the market for $16.8 million and the couple will be splitting their time between California and Chicago until the Arizona house is built. Their Chicago home by the way, a three- floor wonderland in the prestigious Palmolive building on Lake Michigan is the former Playboy building. But Vince is anything but a playboy these days.
So, are you getting the picture that Vince Vaughn is now Vince the family man who’s raising his two year old daughter Locklyn outside the typical Hollywood ambiance? And eventually, Phoenix fits right into that picture. It’s the place he’ll be able to spend more time with his father Vernon Vaughn and Vernon’s wife Vicki Vaughn. It’s part of the appeal of buying property in Phoenix area. Vince’s two sisters Valeri Vaughn and Victoria Vaughn and their families also live in the Los Angeles area. Phoenix is geographically desirable for all the families to be able to travel often between Arizona and California.

Vernon Vaughn and Vicki Vaughn talked with me about their excitement. “We’re so excited that Vince and Kyla will be building a house in Arizona," says Vernon. "it’s a great place for families. It will give Vicki and I a chance to spend more time with Vince and Kyla and all my grandchildren,” he says with emphasis on the word “grandchildren.” That’s because in addition to his five grandchildren, Vince and Kyla are expecting another child in August!
Vince’s other baby - Wild West Productions - is growing up into a Hollywood force that boasts big screen films and TV sitcoms. Among the television shows is “Sullivan & Son” about a corporate attorney (played by comedian Steve Byrne) who takes over his father’s bar in Pittsburgh. The series was picked up for a second season and will begin airing again this summer on TBS on Thursday nights. Vince is executive producer.
Also, moviegoers are looking forward to Vince’s movie "The Internship" which will hit theaters this summer. It reunites Vince with his Wedding Crashers’ co-star Owen Wilson. STAY TUNED!
