One of the state’s leading wineries is ringing in the fall season with a very special celebration. Wine lovers are invited to commemorate the fall season with Dos Cabezas WineWorks’ annual Cosecha Harvest Festival (cosecha is Spanish for “harvest”) on Nov. 2 and 3 in Sonoita.
The event is hosted inside Dos Cabezas’ tasting room, set against the vineyard-dotted hills of southeastern Arizona’s beautiful wine country. Guests will sample Dos Cabezas’ latest vintages from the 2011 and 2012 harvests (they’ll actually be among the first to try the vintages). Guests will also enjoy live music and local crafts and foodstuffs.
While Dos Cabezas has the drinks covered, it has partnered with Overland Trout, the new eatery from former Quiessence chef, Greg LaPrad, to offer an optional gourmet boxed lunch at Cosecha Harvest Festival. Also, Dos Cabezas has partnered with SanTan Brewery on a Saison-style beer using grapes from this year’s harvest. (Saisons are typically dry, fruity ales that possess a light body and effervescence.) This new brew will make its debut at the Cosecha Harvest Festival.
Tickets to the Cosecha Harvest Festival are $15. Tickets include all wine samples plus a keepsake Dos Cabezas wine glass. www.doscabezaswinery.com.
