Recipes: Christmas Cocktails

While you’re rocking around the Christmas tree this evening, have one of these festive cocktails, provided by local restaurants and hot spots, in hand.
Biltmore Gingerbread Martini

1 ½ oz. Belvedere
1 oz. Bailey’s
½ oz. Gingerbread Monin syrup
Crushed gingerbread cookie for the rim
Shake ingredients and top with gingerbread cookie rim.

Roast a fresh chestnut in a 350-degree oven. Make a small “x” through the shell before placing in oven lest it explode.
1 Roasted chestnut
1 T sweet butter
1 T brown sugar
Dash cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
2 oz. dark rum
1 C boiling water
Place chestnut (warm) in the bottom of a mug, with all other ingredients. Pour hot water over and let steep for a couple of minutes. Enjoy your cocktail and eat the chestnut at the end for an added bonus.

In a metal shaker, combine the following:
1 ½ oz. Partida Blanco Tequila
2 oz. White Cranberry Juice
1 ea wedge orange fresh squeezed
3 oz. Sweet and Sour
Fill shaker with ice. Shake in metal shaker. Fill a sugar-rimmed 16-ounce glass with ice. Pour ingredients from shaker into glass. Garnish with orange slice and float cranberries on top.

1.5 oz. half and half
2 oz. Godiva white chocolate liqueur
1 oz. peppermint schnapps
1 oz. Vodka
Place all ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes. Shake. Strain/pour. Garnish with a candy cane.

1 ½ oz. Baileys Mint Chocolate
1 oz. Rumplemints
1 ¼ oz. Creme de Mint
Combine Baileys, Rumplemints and ice in shaker tin. Shake contents vigiously. Strain into chilled martini glass. Top with cream and crushed candy cane. Drop 1/4 oz. creme de mint on top. Garnish with candy cane.
