Where to Shop and Dine in Phoenix: San Tan Village

If you live within the Phoenix Valley Metro, most likely there is at least 15 shopping malls within your 25 mile radius (we’re not joking, we just checked). But most likely, you only frequent one or two of these centers. Once you’ve seen one mall, you’ve seen them all, right?  Not hardly! The mall might be just a few minute’s drive from your normal hub, or it might be an excuse to explore a new part of Phoenix…either way, AFM is helping you plan a shopping day trip to seek out those hidden gems (that perfect piece is waiting for you!). Last week, we showed you The Borgata of Scottsdale. This week, to continue our celebration of this beautiful January weather, we’ll explore one of our favorite outdoor malls.

San Tan Village (the East Valley)
Located in Gilbert, Arizona, San Tan Village is one of the newest centers in Phoenix. We were shocked at our first experience! San Tan Village feels less like a mall and more like a a hip down town experience. Much like the Shops at the Kierland, you can stroll through streets between restaurants, boutiques and the big department stores without feeling like you’re in a strip mall.
Where to Shop:
Ann Taylor – San Tan Village has both an Ann Taylor and an Ann Taylor LOFT.  This makes us very happy!
The Apple Store – Currently there are only five Apple Stores in The Valley and San Tan Village has one of them. It seems as if this one is slightly less crowded; if you need a little extra attention, it might be worth going out of your way to visit this location.
Cactus Bike – bike shops are usually tucked away in smaller centers or neighborhoods so we love that Cactus Bike allows us to only park once us pick up our necessities for our Sunday ride while we’re out running the rest of our errands.
Charming Charlie – we are obsessed with Charmie Charlie. If you are an accessories person and absolutely have to match, you’ll be in heaven. Everything in the store is organized by color, so if you need something orange, purple or black, no sifting needed.
Dick’s Sporting Goods , Just Sports Fresh Produce Sportswear and lucy– it’s sunny almost every day of the year here, meaning there’s not many months that you can hide your figure! We honestly don’t think there’s enough sporthing goods stores in Phoenix or at Phoenix malls and therefore we think these three stores are definitely worth the visit.
Pandora – the jewelry store is perfect for gifts.
Today’s Pool and Patio – again, with this weather, it’s hard not to think about a backyard makeover.
Where to Eat:

Cantina Laredo

Maui Wowi Coffees & Smoothies – this coffee shop is so delightful.  You instantly relax when you walk in to the island music. Treat the kids to a smoothie and yourself to a little something with macadamia nut.

Blue Wasabi Sushi and Martini Bar – And this is the East Valley? This well known contemporary and intimate sushi and martini bar is the perfect date night spot or happy hour with the girls.

Cantina Laredo – sophisticated Mexican food with dishes that included sautéed artichoke hearts or chipotle wine sauce.

Grimaldi’s Brick Oven Pizzeria – if you haven’t been to a Grimaldi’s in the Valley yet, you are truly missing out on an experience. One of our favorites for lunch!

Caketini – the name says it all.  So cute.

Where to Park:
If you can’t find parking along the side streets, wrap around to the other side of the food court or the Dillard’s parking lot.
