You and your pooch are invited to join Puff & Fluff on the dog-friendly patio at 32 Shea on Jan. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. This informal, un-hosted gathering is just for fun, laughs, great food and drinks. Donations will be given to the local rescue, Pawsitive Art by Tara’s Fosters.
This year, Barrio Queen will be introducing a delectable pineapple flavored dessert tamale into its traditional tamale mix. This is the first time that Barrio Queen has done a dessert tamale and they are eager to introduce it to fans both in Scottsdale and in Gilbert. One dozen dessert tamales will be packaged and sold at $18. Customers wishing to order holiday tamales may call either location (Scottsdale at 480.656.4197 or Gilbert at 480.634.5025) to place their order 24 hours in advance. Half dozen orders are not available, however, one dozen may be split between the two flavors.
Local Bistro’s brunch is offered Saturdays and Sundays starting at 9 a.m. The menu includes dishes like the root beer waffle, lemon ricotta pancakes, the “Elvis” (featuring mascarpone stuffed French toast, peanut butter maple syrup, caramelized bananas and bacon) and an array of other options.
For a decadent December meal, Bluewater Grill in Phoenix will serve a signature, sustainably harvested version of Holiday Baked Stuffed Maine Lobster (pictured) all month long. Stuffed Maine Lobster is a classic family feast that originated in Boston-area seafood restaurants and has since become a cherished New England holiday tradition.
Looking for a little more than the average happy hour? Tavern Americana announces its weekend specials: Mondays: Burger & Beer—any burger and fixed handle beer is $9.95, starting at 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: Kid’s Entrée Free (limit one with purchase of an adult entrée), plus $1 off canned beer; Wednesday: Food & Wine: $30 for shaved apple and gorgonzola salad, any wood-fired pizza, bottle of house wine; Thursday: $1 off all canned beer
