Scottsdale’s super-romantic Sassi has long been a favorite destination among Valley wine lovers. Later this month, the Italian-inspired restaurant is giving oenophiles yet another reason to stop by Sassi. Michael Mondavi, a third-generation winemaker and wine industry icon, will be at Sassi on Thursday, August 30 for a private cellars “Around the World” tasting featuring 12 of Mondavi’s favorite wines from California, Italy and Spain.
Mondavi will guide guests through a tasting as he discusses the around-the-globe regions, production methods, and the people behind the renowned family-owned wineries. To round out the tasting experience, the wine will be complemented by a four-course Italian meal by Sassi’s Executive Chef Christopher Nicosia.
Featured wines will include M by Michael Mondavi; Luce della Vite; Vall Llach; Masi; Tenuta dell ‘Ornellaia; Marchesi de Frescobaldi; Palacios Remondo; and Artadi. Attendees will have the opportunity to become a private cellars member. New members will have their ticket price applied toward their first private cellars shipment.
Tickets are $150 per person. To reserve your spot, e-mail concierge@privatecellars.com. www.sassi.biz.
