New Happy Hour at Blanco Tacos + Tequila

One of our favorite Sam Fox newbies, Blanco Tacos + Tequila at The Borgata in Scottsdale, will debut a new happy hour menu today. From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Mondays through Thursdays, guests can experience a flavorful selection of Blanco’s contemporary Mexican fare for only half the price. Happy hour prices include half-off all queso crisps and starters, as well as half-off all house margaritas and draft beers. Sounds like a killer deal–and my kind of way to get out of the weekday dumps.

Guests can choose from a happy hour priced menu of queso crisps including cheese and guacamole ($4.50); roasted chicken and poblano chile ($5); chorizo, green chile and tomato ($4.50); chipotle shrimp and corn ($5.50); Blanco “cheese only” ($3.50); and braised short rib and avocado ($5.50). Starters you’ll find on the new happy hour menu include the delectable guacamole “Blanco style” ($4.50); queso fundido ($4.50); and nachos con queso blanco ($4.50) or with beef or chicken ($6). And plenty of thick, warm tortilla chips to scoop it up with.
Special house margarita pricing includes the classic margarita ($4); pomegranate or grapefruit margarita ($4.50); white house margarita ($4.50); mixed berry margarita ($4.50); white peach and hibiscus margarita ($4.50); and blood orange margarita ($4.50).

Blanco provides incredible settings to enjoy the half-off pricing at its signature patio or bar. The spacious climate controlled patio wraps around the restaurant and features comfortable bright blue padded chairs with ottomans and table seating. Facing north and east, the patio is the ideal location for enjoying a yummy–and specially priced during happy hour–margarita.

The bar, which is the focal point of the dining room, offers wine, beer and nearly 50 premium tequilas, including nine blancos, nine reposados, eight añejos and three ultras. There is an exciting signature selection of traditional and contemporary margaritas and cocktails including the melon margarita made with silver tequila, melon liqueur and watermelon and the white House margarita made with silver tequila and Navan vanilla liqueur. The delicious house made sangria blanco features white wine with peaches, pears and lychee fruit while the sangria rojo, possibly our favorite libation at Blanco, is made with red wine, strawberries, raspberries, plums and currants.
After you’ve finished up your happy hour eats, there is still plenty of menu to go around. It features a variety of tacos, enchiladas, burritos and chicken, beef, pork and seafood dishes created with fresh, innovative ingredients. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Blanco Tacos + Tequila offers up some weekend happy hour specials soon. 6166 N. Scottsdale Rd., Ste. 601, Scottsdale, 480.305.6692, www.foxrc.com.

  1. There is nothing better than margarita’s on a hot afternoon. You’ll find me there this Wednesday.

  2. I love Mexican food and Blanco’s chips are some of the best I’ve ever had! I could make a meal out of those alone, so the fact that the guac is half off makes it even better! Great deals.

  3. Oh my goodness! I went to this opening, and their food is amazing! I actually sat in the bar, and it is so much fun! The colors and ambiance are fantastic at this restaurant!

  4. this is both good and bad. i love the place and would love to go there for happy hour, but a happy hour that ends at 5:30??? and isnt even available on fridays!!! that is SOOOO lame. Taneko, which was there before had a great happy hour that went til 6:30. now that all of us have to work a little harder, why would anyone be available on a weekday at the crack of 5pm to enjoy this? they should be more generous and more realistic. if i had their contact i would actually complain about this. devil’s martini happy hour used to end at 7, now it goes til 10, to help people out in this bad economy. Blanco will learn quick that there is nothing happy about happy hour that ends before poeple finish work.
