Word of the day (it is back-to-school time, right?): friggatriskaidekaphobia, which is the fear of Friday the 13th. Once in a while, a Friday the 13th rolls around. But, today, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain’s jade bar and edge lounge, in Paradise Valley, is actually doing something to put a positive spin on this sometimes dreaded day–or at least to those who suffer from friggatriskaidekaphobia.
Elements Executive Chef Beau MacMillan is offering his Tuna Tartare and Watermelon Yuzu Gimlet for a special price of $13. The Watermelon Yuzu Gimlet is the delish combo of Bombay Sapphire gin, watermelon juice, beet juice and yuzu. The special cocktail/small plate combination can be enjoyed in Sanctuary’s jade bar, or on edge, Sanctuary’s outdoor lounge. Plus, Sanctuary is one of the Valley’s top spots to take in the sunset. It’s hard to be scared while taking in a cocktail and sunset! Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, 5700 E. McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley. 480.948.2100, www.sanctuaryoncamelback.com.
