AZ Strings Happy Hour Benefits Operation Homefront

We don’t need much of a reason to enjoy a good happy hour. However, it’s always nice when our happy hour-ing benefits a wonderful, worthwhile cause. AZ Strings, a simultaneous happy hour featuring Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Celebration Ale and live acoustic guitar performances, will occur in 50 Arizona bars and restaurants on Dec. 4, all to benefit Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront is a national non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance and morale to troops, their families, and to wounded warriors when they return home.
“At Operation Homefront, we serve as a resource for our military and their families, to find the help that they need to live,” said Margy Bons, the Arizona-chapter president for Operation Homefront. “The needs of our troops and their loved ones are growing every day, and it’s programs like AZ Strings that help us secure the funds that we need to help as much as possible.”
From 5-7 p.m. on December 4, participating establishments will host live acoustic guitar performances and serve Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Celebration Ale to patrons. (Sierra Nevada BrewingCompany, a family-owned, California-based artisan brewery, is considered the premier craft brewery in the U.S.) A portion of the proceeds from every keg of participating Sierra Nevada beer sold not only during the event, but also throughout the months of November and December, will be donated to Operation Homefront.
In addition to attending the event, musicians can sign-up at any Valley Guitar Center location to perform at one of the AZ Strings happy hour events. Sign-ups go through November 21. Participating bars and restaurants include Casey Moore’s in Tempe, The Lodge in Scottsdale, CK’s Tavern, Boulders on Broadway, Grill in Phoenix and Hazelwood’s in Phoenix, Deluxin Phoenix, Rose & Crown in Phoenix, among many others.
