This week’s Resort Report features a pet-friendly Denver stay and a Florida escape with special golf ties.

Pet-Friendly Denver

When traveling, it is important to know that the worries of home are taken care of. Leaving behind furry family members can certainly impact one’s ability to mentally escape while away from home. The perfect pooch-friendly destination is actually in Denver, Colorado: the Oxford Hotel.

Leaving Fido at home is not an option at the Oxford Hotel. With the Dog Days Package, man best friend is welcomed into the hotel with standout amenities awaiting. Guests’ dogs will get to enjoy yogurt-dipped bones, a dog walking service and even a $25 gift card to the Dog Savvy Boutique & Spa, where guests can purchase anything their pet might need during their stay. To help get around and explore the city, the hotel includes a map with dog-friendly restaurants and attractions. The package starts at $220 per night for three guests; two humans and one pooch.

Orlando: Great Golf and Instruction

The former Arizona Wildcat, Annika Sorenstam, stepped away from the tour while at the top of her game in 2008. Since then, she hasn’t looked back, turning her attention to raising two young children and a diverse array of projects, including her Annika Academy.

The Annika Academy is a state-of-the-art, boutique golf instruction and fitness facility at Orlando’s renowned Reunion Resort, it opened in 2007 as a platform to share Annika’s passion for golf and fitness.

The Academy offers an exceptional opportunity to learn from the same teachers who coached Annika during her storied career.

New to the roster in 2012 is the ‘Player’s Package.’ The program includes three hours of instruction on three consecutive days; 54 holes of golf; and full-service breakfast daily. Groups are limited to no more than eight guests, fostering an intimate guest-to-instructor ratio and environment conducive to learning. Prices start at $1,900 per person.
