Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Shows Off Some New Changes

Guestroom 3

Scottsdale’s award-winning Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain has added an exciting new room category to its luxurious accommodations. The new Camelback Casitas and Camelback Suites showcase a fresh, contemporary look and are specifically designed to highlight Paradise Valley’s breathtaking views.

The casitas and suites capture a sleek, spacious and contemporary feel with soft furnishings and décor in an elegant, neutral color palette, weaving nature-inspired details into the design. Walls are accented with desert-inspired artwork and photography from local artists, and a large Monarch butterfly area rug in the living room adds a pop of color to the neutral color scheme, drawing on the growing abundance of migrating Monarch butterflies in the Phoenix area. The eye is immediately drawn to a focal wall of smoked mirrored “sideview glass” that serves as a backdrop for a large soaking tub in the bathroom that opens into the living space via large double doors.

The 500-square-foot Camelback Casitas feature large tile flooring throughout, a separate seating area with table and comfortable chairs, layered lighting options, a dry bar and custom-designed wood furnishings. Bathrooms are fitted with lit vanity mirrors and a skylight, as well as separate oversized tubs and a tiled shower.

The Camelback Suites are designed to capture the dramatic vistas of the Arizona desert. The layout of the furniture and patio embrace the desert landscape, while the custom-crafted wood furnishings and light, neutral color palette reflect the timeless quality of the setting. Both the 1,000-square-foot one-bedroom suites and 1,500-square-foot two-bedroom suites feature a living and dining area with inviting seating options. The wood-burning fireplace and dry bar provide a classic, sophisticated place to settle in on a cool desert evening or unwind with a fabulous cocktail, all enhanced by the layered lighting options throughout the rooms. Double doors open into a sky-lighted bathroom with a tiled shower and a luxurious soaking tub.

Big change on the horizon:

One of Sanctuary’s private Mountainside Estates, Casa del Sano, will soon be transformed into a Spa House. The complete overhaul, which will debut early 2016, will create a distinct wellness retreat (in addition to the award-winning Sanctuary Spa). It will include a movement studio and accommodate groups up to eight. Ongoing programs, like Sanctuary’s Satori Meditation Retreats, will find a perfect home at the new Spa House.
