In the early 1960s, the Hawaiian Fashion Guild began promoting Hawaiian print shirts, or Aloha shirts, as business attire. Fascinatingly enough, the Aloha mindset got to be so popular that a resolution was passed in the Hawaii Senate recommending that Aloha attire be worn throughout the summer.
