The Hermosa Inn & Phoenix Art Museum Introduce Conversations in Fashion Series

LON’s at The Hermosa Inn will introduce an all-new Conversations in Fashion series throughout the fall in partnership with the Phoenix Art Museum’s Arizona Costume Institute.

Open to the public, the Conversations will feature design-focused cocktail hours, book signings and intimate Q&A’s with some top names in fashion.

At $40 per person, meet and greet the evening’s special guest along with wine and hors d’oeuvres. The 2016-2017 schedule is as follows:

Pat Cleveland is an American supermodel that The New York Times society chronicler Bill Cunningham calls “The Supermodel” and Vogue veteran Andre Leon Talley calls “the all-time superstar model,” and “the most extraordinary black model of the century.” She will present thrilling tales from her five decades in fashion, full of glamour, adventure, and romance as told in her newly released unforgettable memoire, Walking with the Muses. Author, curator, and Cashin archivist, Stephanie Lake will present her book Bonnie Cashin: Chic is Where You Find It on the life and work of visionary designer Bonnie Cashin, who created fashions for modern, free-spirited women “on-the-go.” While many of her fashion “firsts” and 1960s “it bags” for Coach were revolutionary, they have since become classics. The Hilton Brothers, comprised of Christopher Makos (a long term photographic cohort of Andy Warhol) and Paul Solberg (known for his floral and human portraits), are a photography duo whose works of diptychs and quadriptychs, portrayed both single and together, have taken them around the world. Their artistic identity as The Hilton Brothers, was born out of a series of collaborations while traveling some eight years ago. As they traveled, they created fashions from materials indigenous to each locale they visited from Cowboy Country, USA to Cairo, Saigon, Palermo and beyond. Hear about their travels, photography, and fashion designs.

Rose Apodaca, author of Fred Heyman: The Extraordinary Difference

Author Rose Apodaca tells the story of an American fashion icon in her book Fred Hayman: The Extraordinary Difference. Under the landmark yellow striped awnings of Giorgio Beverly Hills, Fred Heyman created one of Rodeo Drive’s top shopping attractions. For over a dozen years he was the official fashion coordinator for the Academy Awards and helped shaped Hollywood style. Hear the story of this arbiter of gilt, with a book signing to follow.
