Calling all photographers. National Geographic invites you and a friend to hone your digital photography skills amidst the majestic scenery of Tucson during the ultimate weekend experience at Miraval Resort and Spa. During designated weekends,(the first being this weekend), guests are led by a National Geographic photographer through the wide world of digital photography and editing.
Embark on daily excursions with a small workshop of 25 participants, photographing stunning mountain vistas, the stark beauty of the Sonoran Desert, and the historic center of Tucson. Zoom in on giant desert cacti, and capture images of the Navajo hoop dance during a private performance. Then enjoy the fabulous spa facilities of Miraval Resort and Spa; invigorating outdoor activities; and fresh, healthy cuisine at the all-inclusive Miraval Resort.
The four-day excursion is packed with sessions on composition, editing and more while outdoor guides allow you to use your newly refined talents around the luscious environment of Miraval Resort and Spa and Tucson.
Participants must bring a digital SLR camera, a laptop computer, and software for organizing and presenting images. Each weekend workshop is limited to 25 students. The workshop also includes a $150 credit per person per stay to be used toward spa services or other optional program activities, so guests can gain the full experience of being at a luxury resort while discovering their inner visual artist.
