Family Adventures at Tucson Resort

During the summer months, many people flock to nearby cities to explore different sides of our great state. From May 24 through September 2, Valley families will retreat to Tucson’s Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort as a part of a fun, educational experience with the resort’s summer Edu-tainment program.

Some of the offerings this year include previous family favorites Mad Scientist workshops, Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum creature experience, poolside Dive-In movies and stargazing, as well as several new additions including poolside yoga, solar tours, golf clinics, and cooking classes with the resort’s renowned culinary team.

With room rates beginning at $119, the events kick off every Friday morning with poolside yoga at the peaceful Acacia Pool, followed by afternoon pool games for kids at the Main Pool. Parents can enjoy a complimentary tequila toast in the Conquistador Lobby Lounge followed by special happy hour pricing on beverages. In the evening, families can enjoy the unique style of Nuevo Flamenco and Spanish guitar provided by Rumbo Nuevo in the Conquistador Lobby Lounge or a Dive-In movie at the Main Pool.

Summer Saturdays at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador are action-packed from morning to night. Start your day on an active note with poolside yoga or water aerobics classes or an advanced and beginner tennis clinic. While relaxing in the sun at the Main Pool guests can enjoy chair massages for $1 per minute with a 15-minute minimum as well as pool games and contests throughout the afternoon. Every Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. budding astronomers can take a tour of the sun with world’s only portable solar observatory brought to the resort by Arizona Star Tours. In the afternoon adults will enjoy cooking classes with a member of the resort’s acclaimed culinary team and kids can participate in hands-on science experiments from Mad Science that are as fun and engaging as they are educational.

Following an evening of tequila toasting, stay and enjoy happy hour specials in the Conquistador Lobby Lounge. Live entertainment on Saturday evenings feature local favorite, Kaci Bays. By popular demand, a second night of poolside Dive-In movies has been added, and Saturday evenings wrap up with stargazing with Astronomer Ben at 8 p.m. who guides guests through the Arizona summer night sky using a high-powered telescope. 

The unforgettable summer weekends at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador continue on Sunday mornings with yoga or golf clinics at the Country Club driving range and water aerobics. At 9 a.m. each Sunday during the summer, the Desert Ark Van from Arizona Sonora Desert Museum “docks” at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador and introduces guests to some of the most exciting Sonoran Desert residents like barn owls, kangaroo rats, chuckwallas and friendly snakes.  For their final exciting activity with Hilton Tucson El Conquistador, kids can make pizza with Executive Chef, Jan for $12.
