Title: Laphroaig Distillery Visitor Centre Manager

I was born…

in the Speyside region of Scotland.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the weather – I don’t need a jacket.

I’m listening to…

Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my family.  I have 6 siblings, and since relocating to Islay I do not get to spend enough time with them or my 11 nieces and nephews.

The one thing I cannot live without…

wifi – I need to be connected!

I’m inspired by…

challenge.

The one person who motivates me is…

myself – I am self-motivated.

The perfect day would be…

spent doing something for the first time.  I like to experience new things – life should be an adventure.

My first job was…

in a visitor centre on Speyside.

My favorite escape…

reading a book.

My life…

is organized chaos – just the way I like it.  Nothing in my life is routine, and each day is different.

I’m currently working on…

developing a program to celebrate Laphroaig’s 200th birthday.  The distillery was established in 1815.  Today we are using traditional skills to keep the recipe as consistent as possible.  There will be different celebratory bottlings coming out over the course of this year and we will be celebrating on the site with Friends of Laphroaig who make the pilgrimage to Islay to see their favorite distillery.

Always…

challenge yourself.

Never…

give up.

Favorite Quote…

“Today’s rain is Tomorrow’s whisky” – A great example of Scottish optimism!

Born from the streams and blue peat smoke of Islay, Laphroaig is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a distinct taste and story in every bottle. The secret to Laphroaig is that it benefits from the happy circumstances of where it is produced—next to ocean water and on land that gives Laphroaig a unique peaty taste. Laphroaig 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky is the original Laphroaig expression and has become the gold standard by which all other Islay malts are judged, as it is distilled the same way today as the first day it was crafted nearly 200 years ago.
