Kids: 2 amazing humans that continue to blossom into their own stories.

City you live in: Phoenix

A typical day in my life includes…

an early wake up call, whatever concoctions I’m having that morning (always warm water with lemon), grab food and off to The Dailey Method Phoenix. From there I’m either teaching or taking class, checking in and touching base with our clients, making sure our staff is feeling supported, and generally just running around making sure everyone feels good. At the end of the day, I’m lucky enough to go home to my loves and enjoy some yummy food.

I was born…

in Colorado Springs. I moved to Arizona a long time ago and while the brisk mountain air still lives in my veins, Phoenix is my home.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

I love knowing there is a pretty solid chance I get to see blue skies. I love knowing that I can hop in the car and get to a beach down south, or a mountain up north. Most of all I love this growing sense of community that we’ve built around our studio. It’s such an overwhelming feeling to know that so many people share the same things; successes, challenges, joy and struggle. It’s comforting to know you are not alone.

I’m listening to…

Spotify and I are in a serious relationship. I am endlessly perusing new music, smiling and recalling memories when I hear an “old” song and looking for the beat in everything. Making playlists is a big part of my week, cause I’m always trying to keep my music fresh for class at The Dailey Method.

My family…

I have this really tight nucleus that I literally live for and then like the rings around Saturn, my scope of family extends…out and out, and the further it extends the more love is magnified and then it all comes flowing back. Miraculous energy!

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my grandma. She passed when I was still a teenager, but I remember her having the best stories and such a soft worldly energy. I wish I could have dinner with her now, as an adult to feel, hear, and experience that again.

One thing I cannot live without…

LOVE. Oh, and warm scarves. I love my scarves.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a music therapist. I began playing instruments at an early age and kind of intuitively felt how music could heal. I guess I’m BASICALLY the same thing, creating inspiring music that allows people to feel a certain way and to get deeper into their personal practice. WHEW.. 🙂

I’m inspired by…

selflessness. We live in such a “ME” society that when I see people giving without an agenda, it’s inspiring.

The one person who motivates me is…

I’m motivated by a lot of people for many different reasons, choosing one is just too hard! I do really, really admire Amma. She’s a “hugging saint” from India and tours all over the world to hug people. It’s an amazing spectacle, very touching, a deeply spiritual experience…and man she gives good hugs! She will literally sit in the same seat until every last person has received their hug.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

to get rid of so much hate. The blind hate that resides in so many people in so many thoughts really stunts all forward momentum. We simply cannot continue to grow, as individuals or a society if we are stuck in hate.

The perfect day would be…

I really live my perfect day, every day. I have major job love, plus I get to work out where I work (bonus) and I get to hang out with really cool people, and I usually eat really good food (BIGGER bonus). Maybe it would be MORE perfect if at the end of the day I was teleported to a secluded beach bungalow somewhere, ocean breeze and the sound of the waves…yeah…more perfect.

My first job was…

I worked at the Humane Society for a summer and we would take dogs to nursing homes. It was incredibly rewarding to see people get so excited to see a dog or cat.

My favorite escape…

I LOVE coming home, turning off all the devices, and watching a movie. Naturally there is popcorn involved with a ridiculous amount of butter and nutritional yeast. (Have you had nutritional yeast on popcorn? If not, do it…now.)

My life…

is amazing and scary and thrilling. When I had the opportunity to become a business owner, even though I KNEW it was the right next move for me, it terrified me! I grabbed onto that fear and I jumped, headfirst into an incredible pool of people that share a goal….to feel better, inside and out. WOW, how cool is that?

I’m currently working on…

cycle training. It’s the next class we’ll be adding to the Dailey Method schedule in the first quarter of 2017. The training is INTENSE and my legs are not always the best cooperators, but I’m getting there!

Always…

say goodbye. Never, never leave your loved ones without saying goodbye (and I love you), even when you’re mad (ESPECIALLY when you’re mad).

Never…

give up. There is always a way to make it work, just don’t give up.

Favorite Quote…

Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.” – Cadet Maxim

Biggest Dream…

is to help make the world a better place. I know that sounds lofty and rose-colored glasses-ish. I do know that the path to this is in the small things. It’s in giving a smile to someone, lending a hand when you can and sometimes just being there to hear what they have to say. I believe that the community of people we have and continue to build at The Dailey Method serves as the beginning of making the world a better place, and I am grateful for that platform every single day.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

mean people, and people who chew with their mouth open. I mean seriously, totally unacceptable, and don’t think I won’t call you out on it (definitely on the chomping and probably on the being mean).
