Describe a typical day in your life…

my day is never typical, but at some point of everyday you’ll find me in the gym, either lifting weights, doing a cardio class, or practicing yoga (Ashtanga’s my favorite). You also might spot me zipping around Downtown on my bike, giving my long-board a kick-push, or grabbing a ride on the light-rail; either on the way to a meeting, getting out of my home/office for a change of scenery, or just grabbing some coffee at one of my favorite coffee spots (Fair Trade Café, Lux, Song Bird or Starbucks to name a few). Most times I’m just in my gym clothes, unless I have a meeting, but on Sunday there’s a 88% chance that you’ll find me in a bow tie and all dressed up. My days always end just like they began, with me thanking God.

I was born…

in Orange County, CA. I grew up on the beach and spent so much of my youth in the ocean.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

there is so much sunshine! I love that time every year when it feels like you can’t take another day of intense heat and you go outside and it’s just so gorgeous! It makes me smile inside and out every time.

I’m listening to…

I have come to love music with no words more and more. So most times just give me a sonata or else something with a beat. If I want some lyrics, it might be Lecrae’s – Power Trip, Hillsong United’s –Oceans or maybe some Louis Armstrong – What a wonderful world. But usually I just hit shuffle on my Pandora that mixes some classical composers with some trip hop and other instrumentals.

My family…

has never been big, but we have always been pretty close. We continue to get closer to each other and realize how much we all love and need each other often. My Dad, mom and sister have been with me through thick and thin, feast and famine. Our family is also made up of so many other families who love us as their own and we love them like ours.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Kurt Warner. Since I am an L.A. Rams fan (Even though they happen to be in St. Louis now) plus played as a Cardinal as well and love them too, now that I am in AZ. I have also heard so many great things about him and he seems like someone who would be great to hang out with as well as get some great wisdom from. “Your awesome Warner and I’m available to come over and have dinner and meet the fam any time!”

One thing I cannot live without…

is music.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

an athlete. My parents put me in every sport you can imagine, year round. It was either football, baseball, soccer, track and field, swimming, basketball, tennis, or water polo. Now that I’m a little older it makes sense and I wish I would not have given up on that discipline. But I always loved fashion as well and think I fell in love with it at maybe 11 years old when I saw the Emporio Armani store in South Coast Plaza in Orange County. I was in awe.

I’m inspired by…

art, fashion, music and so many things in between. It might be the peace in stillness, the bright city lights, the roar of the ocean, or the newness of an experience.

The one person who motivates me is…

the One who told me “it wouldn’t be easy…but it would be worth it”.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

not losing some of the things that have a more personal touch, like a hand written card, getting to know someone over coffee instead of instant message or candid pictures.

The perfect day would be…

to wake up to the flow of the ocean, in the middle of the sea and to sail to shore while enjoying an amazing blend of coffee. Then, drop anchor, swim to the beach and do some exploring. Then maybe come back the beach and cook up some fresh seafood over an open flame. Followed by just lying in the sun and listening to the sound of the waves crash and maybe take this meditative state right into a quick yoga session in the sand and after cooling off in the ocean. Followed by maybe some Frisbee or hacky sack before sunset. At dusk the bonfire is prepared and is the center of attention, it’s the fire for the food, the warmth from the cool beach breeze and the light that glows the faces of my closest friends and loved ones while we huddle around talking, gazing at the stars and maybe even singing couple tunes. One day, I pray to live out this dream.

My first job was…

at Baskin Robbins -31 Flavors. I started work very early, but this was my first “real job”. I was 13 years old and worked for some very dear family friends who owned it. It was right on Scottsdale Rd. and is now Morning Squeeze. Going into it I never really liked chocolate, but now I cannot eat it at all! And the response I always get is: “Who doesn’t like chocolate.”

My favorite escape…

is just getting lost in the timelessness of a moment.

My life…

listen to a song called “Ooh Aah” by Grits (and really listen).

I’m currently working on…

new looks for our upcoming fashion shows and custom pieces for a new face in media.

Always…

open the door for a lady.

Never…

say never.

Favorite Quote…

“Take a picture with your heart” (One or both of my parents use to say this, they would remind my sister and I that these are the most precious moments and they cannot be erased).

Biggest Dream…

is to see as much of the world as I can.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

nail files (long story).
