Title: Founder, Almond Tree Wedding Boutique

Married/Single: Very happily married – waited my entire life for this man!

Kids: none

City you live in: Phoenix

A typical day in my life includes…

every day I get to help someone find a wedding dress that makes them feel special and beautiful, and that makes all the risk and crazy-hard work of “the business side” things worth it.

I was born…

in an Army field hospital in the middle of Death Valley Desert during a dust storm. My mother talks about how the tent was whipping back and forth during the storm as I was born.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

Arizona has everything – wide open spaces, big city, the best restaurants in the world, the best shopping, outdoor activities. We have it all!

I’m listening to…

I like it all, but I love upbeat music with strong rhythms to motivate me when I exercise – The Black Eyed Peas, Beyoncé, and I still love Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean.

My family…

are the most supportive and loving people I know.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Coco Chanel! Imagine the stories and wisdom she could impart! She did so much to shape fashion and design over her lifetime.

One thing I cannot live without…

it’s a guilty pleasure, but having my nails done. If I don’t have a good manicure I don’t feel put-together.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a dress shop owner…really! I never imagined that I would have a wedding gown shop and be living this dream.

I’m inspired by…

simple beauty. If you look for beauty you can find it almost everywhere. I believe that if everyone made a point of recognizing one simple thing every day just because it was beautiful everything would be better.

The one person who motivates me is…

my husband. He keeps me on track and moving forward, even when I am feeling tired and unmotivated.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

I would take the meanness out in the world. I just don’t see a reason for it, out in the world’s war-torn places but also here at home online, in traffic, and in politics.

The perfect day would be…

hike in the morning, an afternoon at the spa and dinner at T. Cooks at Royal Palms (my favorite restaurant).

My first job was…

snack bar girl at the movie theater. I still love great movies to this day.

My favorite escape

brunch at L’Auberge in Sedona. We take it for granted, but Sedona is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it’s just up the road.

My life…

gets better with each passing year.

I’m currently working on…

we just launched our own line of wedding dresses with the Arizona bride as my inspiration. It is crazy how much work is involved in bringing a vision for fashion to market. But they have turned out great.

Always…

treat others with kindness and courtesy, even if they don’t deserve it.

Never…

miss an opportunity to spend time with family and close friends.

Favorite Quote…

“Sometimes it works for you.” – Pamela Hardy Ronalter (yes, I’m quoting myself. I said that one day after what I saw as a setback turned out to be beneficial if I just went with it).

Biggest Dream…

I already have my biggest dream. My husband, who is more than I could ever have imagined him to be. I am very blessed. From here, my dream would be to take my vision for affordable wedding fashion to the next level on a national stage.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

bad manners. Simply being polite is something that I think we owe to everyone around us.
