James Arrowood

JMA Work Headshot (1)

Name: James Arrowood

Age: Mid-30’s

Title: Attorney. Senior Counsel – The Frutkin Law Firm

Married/Single: Single

Kids: None, but someday.

Live: Scottsdale

I was born…

in Santa Ana, (Orange County) California.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

it’s just about right – size, cost of living, energy level, access to the rest of the world in a reasonable amount of time. However, it does need more late night eating options a la New York/L.A./Chicago/Miami/Philly (Lorenzo and Sons giant slice please!).

I’m listening to…

just about everything. Huge spectrum, from classic rock, hard rock, alternative, classical to eclectic, such as Native American Chant/Flute music, Hambone, Zydeco, Disco, Delta Blues, Bluegrass, Americana.

My family…

keeps me grounded.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my Dad, he passed away when I was younger.

One thing I cannot live without…

other people.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

an F-16 pilot till a shoulder injury, then a doctor until o-chem/gross anatomy, but now my legal practice includes helping a lot of healthcare professionals/medical practices-companies, so it worked out the way it was supposed to.

I’m inspired by…

selfless human beings which happens to include a lot of healthcare professionals.

The one person who motivates me is…

my Dad.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

man’s inhumanity to man and its corollary, the irony of people using politics/government to unjustly interfere with other people’s life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

The perfect day would be…

good friends, good food, my dog and family, doesn’t matter where you’re at in the world, it’s who you are with that counts. Would you rather be laughing in the rain or crying in the sunshine?

My first job was…

grip-gaffer/production assistant.

My favorite escape…

road trip through Northern California Coast up to Vancouver, Canada, redwoods, granite, great food, good people and coastline, breathtaking, and very little cell phone reception most of the way.

My life…

is pretty darn good all things considered.

I’m currently working on…

maximizing my potential for number 19, below.

Always…

help children, elders and those unable to help themselves.

Never…

go looking for trouble, it will do its best to find you without your helping it along, but don’t fear the good fight if trouble knocks on your door asking for a punch in the face.

Favorite Quote…

a man or woman cannot help who they are born to, but they can help who their children are born to…. This was attributed to me as being a Native American expression, but not sure exact origins. I’m in awe of good parenting, how do you get any sleep? Also, my own expressions I came up with as life mottos, “Get up, get out, and give back” and “seek clarity and you’ll find purpose, not the other way around” which I can explain in detail some other time.

Biggest Dream…

that when I’m gone, the butterfly effect of my existence was more positive than negative, even if my name is long forgotten. Fame or infamy is less important to achieve than results or impact.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

injustice and its corollary, an unjustified sense of entitlement.
