The Meadows, Maracay Homes’ latest neighborhood in Peoria, is unveiling a massive mural to highlight what makes the city such a great place to live. The 125-foot long, 8-foot tall mural depicts six of Peoria’s points of pride: Lake Pleasant, Sunrise Mountain Preserve, P83, Challenger Space Center, Peoria Unified School District and Cactus League and Spring Training.

“As we were developing the first phase of our latest Peoria neighborhood, we felt we wanted to show our appreciation for a city that has so much to offer,” says Elise Goodell, Maracay Homes marketing manager. “What better way to show our civic pride than to create a mural highlighting all of the things that make Peoria so great?”

The new neighborhood is located at the corner of Deer Valley Road and 91st Avenue. The Meadows’ 173 home sites on 142 acres of land are part of the largest homebuilder transaction in Peoria since the recession that greatly affected the real estate industry.

The mural will be officially debuted this Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Meadows’ grand opening, and is symbolic of Peoria’s character and All-American appeal, despite recent growth into one of the largest cities in Arizona.

Illustrator Dane Danner was chosen to design the mural because of his ability to use contemporary designs and colors to tell the story of Peoria and its robust lifestyle.
