New Luxury Sauna From Sunlighten

Last week I made a permanent move back to Canada. In February, there is little sun and little warmth, so when reading about this new sunna system, available this spring, I can understand from personal experience that this will be a hit in the northern states and provinces.

The mPulse series from Sunlighten (formerly Sunlight Saunas), will be available in April 2010, and promises to offer its users a variety of health benefits and luxury comforts. I think I really need one of these installed in my home. It plays music, counts your calories and is warm and cozy – what could be better?

With a gorgeous Bauhaus inspired design, the mPulse includes a Blaupunkt stereo system, an LCD touchscreen interface, a CD / DVD player and ergonomic floating benches. It can be used indoors or outdoors, and plugs into a household outlet and is very energy efficient.

The mPulse is the world’s first sauna to include a biofeedback monitor programmed to wirelessly send heart rate, calories burned, and core body temperature data into a wellness website for personal use.

The mPulse also uses exclusive infrared heating technology, which has remarkable health benefits: The Journal of American College of Cardiology reports that infrared sauna treatment significantly reduces blood pressure, lowers blood sugar, increases circulation and induces weight loss. As calculated by the amount of increase in heart rate, a 30-minute infrared sauna session in a Sunlighten mPulse can burn upwards of 600 calories.
