Next weekend on September 16, 17 and 18th, Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market will return to WestWorld of Scottsdale.

Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market is a massive vintage shopping event that was founded by Coley Arnold and Lindsey Holt in September 2011. They host 200 different vendors at their bi-annual markets, one mid-September and another in late April. They hosted their first out-of-state market in San Diego in July, and will be hosting more California events in 2017.

Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market vendors are selected though an application process to ensure that shoppers have access to only the best vintage, antique and hand-made goods. Each vendor carries unique and creative products, and displays their wares in an inspiring manner.

Arnold and Holt started Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market after meeting at a Scottsdale Bible Church class for young, married couples, and bonded over the fact that they were both new moms. From there they realized that they also shared a love of vintage shopping, and that is how their business was born.

The event started as just a market in a friend’s backyard with 23 vendors. Arnold and Holt were shocked when 600 shoppers showed up, and this was just the beginning of their success.

“There was a line to get in and no one could find parking,” said Holt. “We knew then that something special had started.”

This year, Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market is celebrating their fifth birthday. In just five years, the event has grown from a backyard market to a first-class shopping event that welcomed 35,000 guests in 2015.
